Arai Corsair-X IOM 2023 Street Motorcycle Helmet

The Corsair-X Helmet by Arai embodies the true Arai fashion, taking helmet technology and rider protection to the next level. It not only guards against direct impacts, but also minimizes the effect of "glancing off" impacts. Arai has designed a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy than absorb it, thus reducing the amount of force transferred to the body. The VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod and pivot cover are smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell to increase the potential to redirect impact energy.

Constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, the helmet is assembled and bonded by Arai experts. The specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight, resulting in superb tensile strength due to a variety of carefully-positioned materials and light weight resin. The helmet is DOT Approved and meets FMVSS 218 Standards.

Exclusive to the Arai Corsair X Helmet, the VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods have a variable axis (moving pivot point) that allows the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets. The dual function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield for quick and simple face shield removal, while also capturing and holding the face shield closed securely. The helmet provides a de-mist position to slightly crack the shield open and features a larger latch design for intuitive and seamless operation, as well as excellent visibility in all seasons, and includes a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert.

The X Type 12 air diffusers, longer than those on the Corsair V, are straightened for improved aerodynamics. They work together with the AirWing to improve stability and create a 19% gain in efficiency. The air intake vents have three positions (closed, half open and fully open) and are easy to operate with gloved hands. The vents create a tight seal to decrease wind noise and water intrusion.
