Known for catering to those with a rounder head shape, the Quantum series has always been the "go-to" choice for many riders. The Quantum-X brings back this favored shape in a feature-rich package, including D.O.T. approval and compliance with the FMVSS 218 standard.
The Variable Axis System (VAS) shield mechanism was specifically developed to enhance the shape of the shell, with an emphasis on ease of use. The quick, easy, and intuitive changing mechanism has received high praise from users. The VAS latch not only securely holds the shield closed, but also helps prevent unexpected opening. The larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation, along with de-mist function.
Compared to the Corsair-V, the new VAS model boasts an increased smooth area around the temple by an average of 24mm, resulting in a rounder, smoother, stronger shell that improves glance off ability.
The new Peripherally Belted - Super Complex Laminate Construction (PB-SCLC) shell design is a combination of materials and techniques developed internally by Arai. This design delivers both performance and affordability, meeting D.O.T. approval and FMVSS 218 standards.

Based on the recommendations of the Snell Memorial Foundation www.smf.org all Arai helmets should be replaced within 5 years of first use. An Arai helmet is serviceable if the helmet is: (1) within 5 years of first purchase or 7 years of date of manufacture; (2) legal in market (certified under US Department of Transportation regulation and Snell standard); (3) contains a Snell certification label that has not been defaced and remains intact; (4) undamaged; (5) not stolen and/or not counterfeit; (6) not modified; and (7) properly fitted for the user. At the sole discretion of Arai, any Arai helmet or Arai helmet part found by Arai, or its authorized agents, (1) to be defective in materials and/or workmanship, and (2) to be serviceable for properly fitted use, within 5 years of the date of purchase, but no more than 7 years from the date of manufacture, will be repaired or replaced, free of charge to the original purchaser, when returned freight prepaid to the address provided by Arai.
