Arai Corsair-X IOM 2023 Motorcycle Helmet

Following true Arai fashion, the Corsair-X Helmet has advanced helmet technology and rider protection by designing a helmet that not only protects against direct impacts, but also minimizes the effect of "glancing off" impacts. Arai has developed a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy rather than absorb it, thereby decreasing the amount of force transferred to the body. The VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod pivot cover is smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell to enhance its potential to glance off impact energy.

Constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, the helmet is assembled and bonded by Arai experts. Specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight, resulting in superb tensile strength and a lighter weight shell. It is DOT Approved and meets FMVSS 218 Standards.

The VAS shield and side pods are exclusive to the Arai Corsair-X Helmet, featuring a variable axis (moving pivot point) that allows the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets. A dual function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield for quick and simple face shield removal, and provides security when closed and a de-mist position when slightly cracked open. The larger latch design allows for intuitive and seamless operation and excellent visibility in all seasons, including a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert.

X Type 12 air diffusers, longer than the Corsair V, are straightened for improved aerodynamics and work with the AirWing to improve stability and create a 19% gain in efficiency. The air intake vents have three positions (closed, half open, and fully open) and are easy to operate with gloved hands, creating a tight seal to decrease wind noise and water intrusion.
