With features such as the innovative VAS shield mechanism, greatly improved airflow and ventilation, and an odor-resistant liner, the Corsair-X has rightfully earned its place as our flagship model. It is D.O.T. Approved and Meets FMVSS 218 Standard.
The SAI shield on the Corsair-V has only a single axis pivot point, but the Corsair-X features the new VAS mechanism with a variable axis that incorporates a moving pivot point. This allows for smooth opening and closing of the shield, even with the mount position being much lower. The VAS latch securely holds the shield closed, preventing unexpected opening, and the larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation, in addition to the de-mist function.
The VAS pivot cover is now smaller and lower than the previous design, providing an average of 24mm more area above the cover. The shell of the Corsair-X is crafted from super fiber and special synthetic fibers, assembled by Arai experts, to provide superb tensile strength and flexibility characteristics. The use of carefully placed materials and newly developed resins result in strong shells that are lighter in weight, similar to the metal bands used to hold a wooden barrel together.
Overall, the Corsair-X sets the standard for advanced helmet design and rider protection, meeting the D.O.T. and FMVSS 218 standards.

| warranty_description | All serviceable Arai helmets are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 5 years after first purchase, but no more than 7 years from the date of manufacture. Based on the recommendations of the Snell Memorial Foundation www.smf.org all Arai helmets should be replaced within 5 years of first use. An Arai helmet is serviceable if the helmet is: (1) within 5 years of first purchase or 7 years of date of manufacture; (2) legal in market (certified under US Department of Transportation regulation and Snell standard); (3) contains a Snell certification label that has not been defaced and remains intact; (4) undamaged; (5) not stolen and/or not counterfeit; (6) not modified; and (7) properly fitted for the user. At the sole discretion of Arai, any Arai helmet or Arai helmet part found by Arai, or its authorized agents, (1) to be defective in materials and/or workmanship, and (2) to be serviceable for properly fitted use, within 5 years of the date of purchase, but no more than 7 years from the date of manufacture, will be repaired or replaced, free of charge to the original purchaser, when returned freight prepaid to the address provided by Arai. Arai has the right to request information from you to establish that the helmet meets the above serviceability requirements, including, but not limited, to proof of purchase. |
