Arai Corsair-X Ogura Motorcycle Helmet

Arai has once again raised the bar in helmet technology and rider protection with their Corsair-X Helmet. This helmet not only provides protection against direct impacts, but it is also specifically designed to minimize the forces of "glancing off" impacts. To achieve this, Arai has engineered a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy rather than absorb it, thereby reducing the amount of force transferred to the body.

The VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod and pivot cover are smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell to increase the potential to glance off impact energy. The helmet is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, and it is assembled and bonded by Arai experts. With specially-developed resin that creates stronger bonds between shell materials and less weight, the shell has superb tensile strength due to a variety of carefully-positioned materials and light weight resin.

The Arai Corsair X Helmet is DOT approved and meets FMVSS 218 standards. It features a VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods that are exclusive to this helmet, allowing the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets. The dual function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield for quick and simple face shield removal, and it securely captures and holds the face shield closed. The larger latch design allows for intuitive and seamless operation, and the VAS MAX Vision shield is standard, providing better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding, and it comes with a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert.

The VAS (Variable Axis System) enables shield opening and closing even with the lower shield position, which is normally not possible due to the shield mounting position remaining relatively high.
