Constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, the helmet is assembled and bonded by Arai experts. Specially developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight, providing superb tensile strength due to carefully positioned materials and light weight resin. The helmet is DOT approved and meets FMVSS 218 standards.

The VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods are exclusive to the Arai Corsair X Helmet, allowing the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets. The dual function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield for quick and simple face shield removal. It also captures and holds the face shield closed securely and provides a de-mist position to slightly crack the shield open. The larger latch design allows for intuitive and seamless operation, and the VAS MAX Vision shield is standard to provide better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding. It comes standard with a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert.

Typically, the shield mounting position must remain relatively high, but the VAS (Variable Axis System) has a variable axis, allowing shield opening and closing even with the lower shield position. This innovative design allows for enhanced functionality and performance.
